Updates / Delays

I am sorry to report that FLOOR's "Below & Beyond" Box Set is not likely to be finished before Christmas, as we'd previously expected. Things have been moving slower with manufacturing than we anticipated, which has caused this delay.

Things are steadily moving forward, just a little slower than we predicted on this mammoth project. This is disappointing to us, and probably you as well, but in the end we'd rather do this at its necessary pace and get it done right, than rush it and have something turn out sub-par.

I sincerely apologize to anyone who was trying to get this for someone as a Christmas/holiday present, as early on it seemed very "doable" to have it done in time for the holidays. I want to express sincere gratitude for your faith and patience in us and this project, as it is shaping up amazing and I really, REALLY cannot wait to have the final thing in our hands, and then in yours.

Please keep an eye on this site for updates as there should be more information again soon on the continuing progress. Thank you again for being understanding, and take care

Slow moving...

After a month I am unhappy to report that we STILL don't have test presses. There have been some bad delays with our vinyl pressing plant, and as a result things are going slower than we'd hoped and expected. Here's what our main man at the plant had to say a few days ago:

"the etched lacquers should be arriving at the plant in the next day or so at which point the rest of the tests can be finished and shipped out your way..."

Frustrating that it's gone this slowly, but I still feel like everyone who's ordered needs to be informed on the status of this beast.

More information will be posted as we have it, and the previously mentioned test press contest should be coming very soon as well. Thank you for your patience and understanding, we are busting our asses to get this to you as quickly as possible.

VINYL ENTERING PRODUCTION! plus, center label artwork...

It's been a strange couple of weeks, but after much meditation, debate and confusion it has been decided the recently found "lost track" unfortunately just isn't going to fit on the appropriate LP it would chronologically lay in. We will be posting this (and possibly another outtake or two) here for free download at some point, but in the meantime there is GOOD news too:

The vinyl is finally entering production!

The center label artwork has been fully completed and approved by the band after some last-minute text changes, so now the next stop is TEST PRESSES.

We've been toying with the idea of running a contest for a set of test presses solely involving the people who've pre-ordered this beast, and another post will surface when we can figure out how to orchestrate said contest.

More elements of this massive set will be entering production shortly, so another post regarding further progress will be posted soon. Thanks again to everyone who's ordered and is following along with the creation of this monster!!

WAS almost ready to put the vinyl into production...

...but the band found 1 more song. Its crazy how much unreleased material these guys had, and even in the 11th hour RIGHT as we're about to put all this into production, Anthony dug up 1 more song.

It might not fit. The timing chronologically may not yield room for it to sneak in. But if there is room, we want it in there.

However if it doesn't fit, we'll post the track online so folks can still hear it. Its an early one, raw as ever... but it still deserves to be heard.

More updates as they come, the verdict on this "final song" should be in soon...

Two semi-exclusive live show downloads

Courtesy of Henry of the mighty CHUNKLET magazine, two late-period FLOOR live show audio recordings have been dug up. Although nothing from either of these is being included in the Below & Beyond box set for various reasons, they're still a cool little window into the end of the band's live existence.

* Download here

Quote the man: "One in Philly and one at the Caledonia in Athens back in '03. Their overly dense sound is truly majestic live, but can be hard to replicate in a live recording, but these do the job pretty well."

First update + checklist + track listing

This blog/website has been built to keep everyone who's pre-ordered the monstrous FLOOR - Below & Beyond Box Set in the loop as to the status of things in regards to production, etc.

This project is massive and the first thing to go into production will be the vinyl itself. Center labels for the vinyl are pending approval from the band members, but almost ready to roll. Once we have the final "ok" on those, the vinyl production will begin. After we have test presses in hand there will be another update announced on here once they have been approved.

Beyond the vinyl itself there are many elements to this project, so in order to keep everyone informed, a simplified checklist has been created for every aspect of the project. Here's the full list of what's needed for this, and approximately where it lies at this point:

CHECKLIST:
* Audio for all vinyl & CD manufacturing - approved
* Center label artwork for all vinyl - Pending approval from band
* CD label artwork - approved
* Record jackets: front cover artwork - approved
* Record jackets: back cover artwork - approved
* Box artwork - mockups 2/3rd done & approved, needs 1/3rd final approval
* T-shirt artwork - approved
* Booklet jacket - approved
* Booklet interior - waiting on writings from the band, layout work needs completion. Layout is structurally established but artwork needs cleanup, mockups need formation & approval.
